With the MLS taking center stage this weekend, we have a host of notable matchups from across America on our hands. So, we have taken a look at a handful of fixtures that are worth keeping an eye out for on Sunday.
Sunday June 26th
BST 01:00 Inter Miami vs Minnesota
Starting with Sunday s hosts, marking their return from June s international break with a flat display on the road, there is no doubt that Inter Miami will be desperate to pick up an immediate response here. Eventually getting hit with a sluggish 2-0 loss away at Atlanta, that should not overshadow what has been a largely impressive run by Phil Neville s men. Knowing that a victory here could see them break into the Final Series places, the one-time Manchester United defender has seen his side lose just one of their last five MLS matchups. Potentially smelling the chance to lay down a marker this weekend, it should be noted that Miami have continued to shine on home soil since opening the 2022 campaign. Last seen in front of their own supporters landing a 2-1 victory against Portland, Neville s men have remarkably mustered 13 points from just their last five MLS outings at the DRV PNK Stadium. With that hometown purple patch also highlighted by victories against New England and the New York Red Bulls, Minnesota could be in for another tough test here. Putting in another worrying display last weekend as they were hit with a 2-1 loss against the Revs, Sunday s guests have come under scrutiny this season. Losing each of their last three domestic contests across all formats, they also came crashing out of the US Open Cup thanks to a shock 2-1 loss at home against USL outfit Union Omaha last month.
Tip: Inter Miami win @ 5/4
03:00 Real Salt Lake vs Columbus Crew
Managing to make an immediate return to winning ways last weekend with an eye-catching display, Real Salt Lake have continued to across almost everyone across America this season. Last seen grabbing a deserved 2-0 victory against San Jose on home soil, Head Coach Pablo Mastroeni should find the mood in his camp at a red-hot high. Managing to prove that their 2-1 loss against Vancouver when returning from the international break was just a minor blip, the Utah-based outfit find themselves battling it out at the top of the Western Conference. Sat just two points adrift of climbing to the top of the table, RSL have now won four of their last five MLS contests. It should also be noted, last seen in front of their own supporters claiming that 2-0 win against the Earthquakes, Salt Lake have now each of their last four contests at the Rio Tinto Stadium. With that stellar run highlighted by a 3-0 romp against Houston when heading into the international break, Mastroeni s men should be looking to keep up that momentum here. On the flip side, having to settle for what was a disappointing 1-1 draw at home against Charlotte, Columbus have continued to show some real inconsistencies. Along with back-to-back 2-0 defeats against LAFC and New York City last month, the Crew have managed to land just a pair of MLS wins since the start of March. With Salt Lake landing a 1-0 victory when the two sides last faced off back in 2019, we re backing a similar home win here.
Tip: Real Salt Lake win Under 4.5 goals @ 6/5
03:00 Houston Dynamo vs Chicago Fire
Starting with Sunday s hosts, last seen marking their return from the international break with another downbeat display, Houston do find themselves enduring a recent blip. Now losing each of their last three domestic matchups, the Dynamo s are still sat outside the Final Series spots and have the feel of a side seeking a boost. Eventually getting hit with a 2-1 loss away at Orlando last weekend, there is no doubt that Paulo Nagamura s men will be glad to make a return to home soil here. Picking up a morale-boosting 1-0 win against Mexican outfit San Luis in a friendly showdown over the break, Houston have won three of their last four home fixtures across all formats. Likewise, it should also be highlighted, El Naranja have lost just a pair of contests in front of their own supporters since way back in October. On the flip side, while Chicago might have finally managed to draw a line under their woeful run of form last weekend, it does not cover another nightmare MLS campaign for the Fire. Still sat rock-bottom of the Eastern Conference, their 1-0 victory against DC United on June 18th was the only win that Sunday s guests have collected from any of their previous 12 domestic contests. In fact, Ezra Hendrickson s side have collected just a single point from any of their last six matchups away from Soldier Field. Although Houston might be showing their own issues on either side of the international break, we re backing a home win here.
Tip: Houston Dynamo win @ 6/5
